Horseback Rides
Full Day Horseback rides are 6-8 hours. $200 per person
Half Day Horseback rides are 3-4 hours. $100 per person
Horseback Rides: Our horses are very gentle and calm, especially for the first time riders. We sometimes can take last minute calls to schedule a ride but we prefer you to call ahead a week or two. There are lots of trails to choose from so if you have been with us before you don’t have to see the same trail and can experience a new area. We do have helmets for any kids that may need it but its not required. It is common to experience rain showers and a rain jacket would be a big benefit.
Fishing: There is great fishing in high mountain lakes or streams. West Slope Cutthroats are the main fish for catching. We can supply fishing gear or you can bring your own personal gear. To get to most lakes it takes riding a horse to get there the quickest.
Things to Bring:
- Sunsreen
- Bug spray
- Light jacket or Rain jacket
- Shoes or boots (no sandals)
- Chapstic
- Bottled Water
- Snacks or Lunch
Weather, Temperatures and Bugs
Weather plays a big role in any trip we provide. Through rain, snow or sun shine the trip must go on. A average summer day in Montana greatly depends on what month your trip will start.
June is a very pretty month with the fresh grass that is greener than life. It is typically a colder month with chances of snow and rain in the first half of the month and warming up and drying out the later half. Frost is an everyday occurrence in June but the days warm up quick. Average temperatures can range from 40-80 degrees for the high. Bugs are at their highest in this month.
July can be the perfect month for green meadows and flowers. The grass hasn’t had a chance to dry up yet with the afternoon thunder showers helping out. There is a huge wide range of flowers out there that bloom almost all summer long.
Warm days are very common in July with afternoon thunder showers to cool things off, making light rain jackets are a must. Temperatures can range from 60-90 degrees for highs during the day. Sunscreen is also a must. Bugs are still out strong but as the weather drys up their numbers thin down.
August can be the best month for hardly any bugs out bugging you. It can typically be dry and warm with temperatures averaging 60-80 degrees. It has been know to snow towards the end of August but it is very rare. Rain can be difficult at times with a day or two of steady drizzles. I would always watch the weather ahead of your trip to help predict what to expect.
